OFFICIAL 2009 ING NEIGHBORHOOD CHEER ZONES CONTEST

The 2009 MARATHON CHEER ZONE Contest was a tremendous success, and truly appreciated by the runners and wheelers out on the course!  Thank you to all nine zones who took part this year! 

2009 Winning Cheer Zones

1st Place:  Zone #1 at Mile 3.5

2nd Place:  Zone #4 at Mile 10.5

3rd Place:  Zone #6 at Mile 20

Cash prizes will be awarded and given to a non-profit, school or recreation center of each winning zone's choice, with $750 going to the first-place winners, $500 to second and $250 to third.

The 2009 CHEER ZONES were judged on creativity, enthusiasm, and use of theme (international theme).  Thanks to everyone who comes out to support the marathoners on the first Sunday in October ever year!  Without you, this would be "just another marathon".
