Course   The course will be run entirely on Nicollet Mall.  The start line is between 3rd Street South and Washington Avenue and the finish line is between 14th and 15th Streets South.

The course has a slight rise for the first three blocks, then maintains a slight downhill for seven blocks before rounding an easy curve and leveling off for the final 200 meters.

Important
For your safety and for the safety of others, absolutely no unregistered participants (including friends, family, coaches and pacers), automobiles, bicycles, strollers, in-line skates, hand cycles, hand-cycle wheelchairs or pets are allowed on the course.  

Splits
Split clocks will be available at each quarter mile.  Each quarter mile will also be marked with a tall white sign positioned on the right side of the road.

Road Closure/Course Crossing Information

  • Nicollet Mall will be closed to all bus and taxi traffic starting at 6:15 p.m.  Traffic will flow on cross streets between waves.

Official "Cheers" Zones
Grab a bite to eat while you watch the race from one of the Official Cheers Zones.  This year's list includes: The Local, Brit's Pub & Eating Establishment, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, Zelo, News Room, Vincent A Restaurant, and Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant.  All are hosting outdoor seating areas and are serving as Official "Cheers" Zones (look for the blue and white balloons along the Mall).  Target will also have live music and giveaways in Peavey Plaza!


Certification/Sanction
The course is certified (#MN-09012_RR) and the event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Twin Cities In Motion strongly encourages, but does not require, USATF membership unless competing in the either the USA 1 Mile Road Championship or USATF Minnesota Team Circuit Championship.  For more information on USATF, click here.

ChampionChip® Timing
Twin Cities In Motion uses the ChampionChip® Timing System, provided by MTec. If you own a chip, please indicate your chip number on your entry form.

The event will be using a single-use, commemorative chip that you can keep or recycle in the finish area.
