START TIME - 8:00 a.m. (CDT) Wheelers start at 7:50 a.m.
The 26.2 mile course begins near the HHH Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis, and finishes at the State Capitol in Saint Paul. The course is flat to rolling, mostly asphalt and very scenic with mile after mile of parkways, lakes, rivers and tree-lined boulevards. WAVE START
The 2010 race will start in two waves with runners placed in either Corral 1 or Corral 2. Corral 2 will begin 3 minutes after the Corral 1 horn.

Corral 1
Corral 1 will consist of those who have completed a sub 3:45 marathon OR sub 1:45 half marathon, OR have a Boston qualifying time within the last two years. Qualifying times must be run on a certified marathon or half-marathon course in calendar years 2008, 2009, or 2010.
To qualify for Corral 1 placement, enter the race name, date, and qualifying time on your online registration form and the marathon office will verify authenticity. You may check your registration receipt from Marathonguide.com for verification, or check the Registration Confirmation search. It is your responsibility to check final verification of corral placement.
If you have not run a qualifying time prior to registration, send an email to corral1@mtcmarathon.org with the race name, date, and qualifying time for verification by August 12, 2010. A link to the official race results would also be helpful.
If you have submitted results for verification, please allow up to two weeks for processing before contacting the marathon office.
The deadline to submit qualification times for verification is Thursday, August 12, 2010 or 2,300 participants, whichever comes first.
To verify your Corral placement status, use the Registration Confirmation tool available here. It is your responsibility to check your Corral 1 Status prior to August 12, 2010.
TRANSPORTATION TO THE START

Driving to the Start: Traffic around the HHH Metrodome will be heavy on race morning. If you are being dropped off, please review the road closures found here.

Alternative Transportation: The Metro Transit Hiawatha Light Rail line has a station next to the HHH Metrodome and Metro Transit Buses Stops are also located near the Dome. Click here for transit information and schedules.

Buses to the Start: Bus transportation to the start of both the marathon and ten-mile are available from various hotels in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Click here for bus information.
RULES OF COMPETITION
Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) has established a Games Committee in accordance with the USA Track & Field Rules of Competition. TCM follows and applies the USATF Rules in all events it conducts to ensure safe, fair races for all participants. Click on the link below to view or download the 2010 Rules of Competition. Buying/Selling/Transferring Race Numbers
TCM does not allow the selling or trading of Bib Numbers and will take necessary action to prevent these transactions. If TCM Officials become aware of an individual involved in the buying or selling of an Official Race Number, the individuals involved may be banned from participating in future TCM events.
Headphones
While strongly discouraged, portable listening devices will be allowed in the marathon. Those competing for awards of any kind may not use such devices. Cell phones and other devices capable of receiving communication are not allowed on the course. For more information regarding this rule change, click here.
USA MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
The 2010 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon has been designated by USA Track & Field as the USA Men's and Masters Marathon Championship. To be eligible for the USA Championship, athletes must be current members of USATF and U.S. citizens. All participants in the USA Masters Marathon Championships must wear specially designated back tags. If you are not currently a USATF member, you can register at www.usatf.org. The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier and a US Olympic Team Trials - Marathon qualifier for both men and women.
