Twin Cities In Motion is adding a half-marathon to it’s line-up of offerings throughout the year of running events in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Red, White & Boom! TC Half Marathon is the first half- marathon planned by the organization and was created to meet the growing interest in that distance and to offer runners a major event that can be included in holiday weekend plans surrounding July 4th.
The national half-marathon is planned for northeast Minneapolis utilizing Boom Island during the peak tourism season in the Midwest, giving families more opportunities to “Explore Minnesota”.
Many details are still being finalized so check back frequently for new information.
Field Limit
The 2010 field limit is 3,000. Registration is online only and is available on a first come, first served basis.
Fees
The non-refundable and non-transferable entry fee is US $55 per person plus processing fee.
Team up for the Boom!
Register a team of two, five, or ten runners and celebrate the 4th of July as a group. Team up for the Boom! participants will have use of private porta-potties in the start and finish areas, special food and a gift in the finish area, a free team photo, and fun awards in all kinds of categories. Team registration is $20 for a pair, $50 for a quintet, and $100 for a group of ten. Runners can register by joining an existing team, or team captains can draft registered runners. The half-marathon starts at 6:30 a.m. CST.

The start line is located on Main Street NE near Saint Anthony Main and Father Hennepin Park. Click the link below for parking information.

Course
The half-marathon course is still being finalized, but will be certified by USA Track & Field. The race will start and finish in the area of Saint Anthony Main/Boom Island in NE Minneapolis. A portion of the course will encompass Saint Anthony Parkway.
- Course Time Limit
The half-marathon finish line remains open until 10:00 a.m. assuming a 6:30 a.m. start. Participants must cross the finish line by 10:00 a.m. in order to be considered "official finishers". After 10:00 a.m., the course and finish line are closed.
- Course Closing Bus
Finishing the half-marathon by 10:00 a.m. generally means maintaining an average pace of 16:00 per mile. The race course is opened to traffic on a rolling schedule as participants make their way to the finish. The City of Minneapolis requires that participants unable to maintain the 16:00 per mile pace board a Sweep Bus or move to and remain on the sidewalks.

- ChampionChip® Timing
The marathon uses the ChampionChip® Timing System, with ChampionChip Minnesota Inc. This will enable participants to get net and other split times. If you own a chip, please indicate chip number on the entry form. Chips must be picked up and tested at packet pick-up, as you will not be timed without a chip.

Rules of Competition
Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) has established a Games Committee in accordance with the USA Track & Field Rules of Competition. TCM follows and applies the USATF Rules in all events it conducts to ensure safe, fair races for all participants. All participants need to be familiar with the following two rules.
Buying/Selling/Transferring Race Numbers
Twin Cities In Motion does not allow the selling or trading of Bib Numbers and will take necessary action to prevent these transactions. If TCM Officials become aware of an individual involved in the buying or selling of an Official Race Number, the individuals involved may be banned from participating in future TCM events.
Headphones
Portable listening devices will be allowed in the half-marathon.
