Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles
Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. and Medtronic have teamed up to create Medtronic TC Kids Marathon, a community-wide effort that inspires healthy lifestyles, especially among children.

Medtronic TC Kids Marathon operates under a simple premise: the sooner we can instill healthy lifestyles in our kids, the better health they will have later in life. A major contributor to a healthy lifestyle is getting regular exercise.

Free Online Training Program for Teachers and Parents
Medtronic TC Kids Marathon provides a fun and effective way for teachers and parents to encourage kids to exercise by providing a free, flexible and practical online training program that you build according to your own needs. All that’s needed to start is an adult registering with a valid e-mail address.

The online training program includes 12-week, 8-week and 4-week options, and are recommended for kids in grades K-8. Programs are geared to varied levels of fitness and can be customized for either the classroom environment or for running at home.  To get started, click here.  The summer 12 week cycle of training begins the week of July 12 and you can join at any time.

Added Fun and Motivation
While you can sign up and start a program anytime, watch for special times throughout the year when incentives are offered if you register and participate in certain activities by posted deadlines.

Sign up for a kids training program and receive an incentive for every participant, and learn about more incentives available from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Events Just For Kids
Regularly-held community running events celebrate training activities by bringing classes and families together in a fun-filled, supportive environment.
